Privacy Policy

Noshie is designed with your privacy in mind. Your meal data stays on your device and in your personal iCloud account. We do not sell, share, or monetize your data.

What Noshie Accesses

Noshie requests the following permissions, each of which you can decline:

• Camera — To take photos of your meals for AI-powered nutritional analysis.
• Microphone — To record voice descriptions of meals and voice-based corrections.
• Speech Recognition — To transcribe your voice input into text, processed on-device by Apple's speech framework.
• Apple Health (write) — To sync meal nutrition data and weight entries to Apple Health. Noshie writes data but does not read your health records.

AI Meal Analysis

When you log a meal, your photo and/or text description is sent to our AI analysis service (hosted on Cloudflare Workers) to estimate nutritional content. The service processes the request and returns results. We do not store your photos or meal descriptions on our servers after analysis is complete.

A randomly generated device identifier is sent with each request for rate limiting purposes. This identifier is not linked to your Apple ID, name, or any other personal information.

Data Storage

• Meal data — Stored locally on your device using SwiftData, and optionally synced to your personal iCloud account via CloudKit.
• Preferences — App settings (daily goals, language, theme) are stored in UserDefaults on your device.
• API key — If you provide a personal Gemini API key, it is stored securely in your device's Keychain.
• Crash logs — In the event of an app crash, a log is saved locally on your device for debugging purposes. Crash logs are not transmitted to any server. Apple's built-in crash reporting may separately collect anonymized crash data if you have opted in to share diagnostics with developers.

What Noshie Does Not Do

• Does not collect analytics or usage tracking data
• Does not use advertising or ad networks
• Does not require an account or login
• Does not share your data with third parties
• Does not use third-party analytics SDKs
• Does not track your location

In-App Purchases

Noshie offers optional premium subscriptions processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. Noshie does not receive, process, or store any payment information.

iCloud Sync

If iCloud is enabled on your device, meal data may sync across your Apple devices via CloudKit. This data is stored in your personal iCloud account and is governed by Apple's privacy policy. Noshie does not have access to your iCloud credentials.

Children's Privacy

Noshie does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app does not require account creation or collect identifying information.

Changes

If this privacy policy is updated, the changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
